Clubhouse Explained In 15 Questions | The Invite-Only Audio-Chat App

1. What can you listen to in the app?

When you finally get access, the app provides a page full of discussion topics to follow, from sports to technology to world affairs to faith to "bustle" and so on. In each case, you can find people who are interested in the same thing, and you can follow them. The more topics and people you follow, the more likely you are to get suggestions for a room that suits your preferences.

2. How many people can be in a conversation?

The current limit is 5,000 people per room of the Clubhouse - which Musk ended up with.

3. Are Clubhouse negotiations permanent?

No, chat rooms start and end as people introduce themselves or exit. Nothing really recorded. However, some members may find ways to record conversations. After all, the internet is still there forever.

4. Do they like conversations or more like podcasts?

All the people involved are talking about their iPhones. They don't see each other, so it's really like listening to a phone call. No technical editing, no sounds, no changes, and no advertising (not officially, yet).

The type of conversation is flexible: one room can be a personal affair between friends, and the other can be a formal conversation-show. It could be a great group discussion or a music sharing session.

If an interested person falls into a room - the creator/manager can put them on stage as a speaker.

5. Is this really the same as 'Medium for Podcasts?'

Kind of. To the extent that it allows anyone to build a room on the plane, without any promise of future talks. But unlike Medium, there is no record of it. AND there is no way to make money. However.

6. Is it very similar to Zoom calls without videos?

The Clubhouse app is not really like that because conversations are open to any member who can access them, not just a select few. The visible dais is limited, in the hope that it gives people only space, with something important or interesting to say.

P.S.: You don’t have to look at the screen while talking about a new and better change from today’s video calls.

7. Who else would like to use the app?

The clubhouse is for people who love to talk and don't miss having an audience. Like needy celebrities (wow!). Or people who want to be fly-on-the-wall near interesting conversations. Eventually, as it grows and becomes a bigger thing, it could be a new path that ALL of us should look for.
